Beautifully imperfect - Tribute to Yasmin Ahmad

I never knew that most of the Petronas advertisements for Merdeka, Hari Raya, etc are produced by Yasmin Ahmad, until this morning when Ally did mention in MHI. I love all her adverstisement, I must say and all are a very good, quality one, I must reckon. All the messages in the advert are well delivered, the emotions, feeling, can be easily felt dan saya selalu menangis untuk iklan2 beliau. Kalau bukan sedih, mungkin terharu. Especially those Merdeka's adverts, memandangkan saya ada sedikit berjiwa patriotik dan jiwa yang sayangkan negara.

I havent watched all her films but I did watch some. Sepet, Mukhsin, etc yang I barely can remember the title. Even though I dont really like some unexplainable scenes in her film, while some a bit dragging, tapi there are a lot of messages in there for sure. I understand that she would like to change the way Malaysian's thinking but we still berpegang pada adat ketimuran dan agama, do we? Well, it is me yang sedikit conservative. But afterall, I do like her products. And the well delivered messages yang lebih penting.

PD Getaway with CHCH buddies..

We had joy, We had fun, We had seasons in the sun

Last weekend was extremely, super duper, happiest, enjoyable weekend ever for the time being. PD getaway with close friends memang priceless. It was Fiza's great idea untuk berkumpul ramai2 and tak sangka, everyone was so excited too. So the 25th July it was, when we spent our weekend together like what we always did few years ago.

Pertama, kami bergambar sakan. Ini aktiviti wajib.

See, Adruce was so happy bergambar dan dikelilingi auntie2 yang jelita.

Sebelum mandi-manda juga harus bergambar dulu.

Mereka lompat2. Macam2 gaya ada.

Kami makan2 seafood dan tomyam.

Makan2 aiskrim jugak. Tapi Laily tak makan aiskrim.

Main banana bot di kala ombak menggila.

Tak ketinggalan untuk enjoy the sunset juga. Kami semua kan berjiwa romantik. Jadi haruslah kan. Hihi.

Akhir sekali, kami semua sangat2 gembira and cant wait for the next vacation!!

Sleepy

I am currently in the sleepy mode. Cuti weekend yang sangat memenatkan. Tidur pukul 2 pagi dan bangun jam 8.30 pagi. Memang penat gile!!

Ini semua gara2 bride-to-be yang berangan besar. Thank you tag nak DIY, goodie bag pun nak DIY. Memang gila. Tapi bride-to-be memang degil, nak juga, maka rasakanlah. Lepas tu sibuk nak complaint2 dalam blog. Apakah??

Tak pasal2 Fiza kena heret sekali mengerjakan goodie bag semua. (Maseh tak terhingga babe. I lap u so much!!) Tapi bila Fiza tiba2 cakap masa dalam kereta lepas ambil dia, "Yuli, ko dah nak kahwin dah!" saya terus rasa, "OMG. Aku nak kahwin!!" Tapi semua itu dalam perasaan yang dah tak sabar2 dan excited. Kalau boleh nak kahwin je weekend ni. HAHA. Apapun, goodie bag hanya siap 400 bags saja. Lagi 2100 bags menanti. Huh. Pengsan.

Semalam sempat juga try pasang cadar untuk kahwin yang mama beli. Bila dah try, terus saja saya cakap, "Mama nak kahwin weekend ni boleh?" HAHA. Adakah ini normal atau aku dah gatal sangat?;p

Blogs

I love to read blogs. I love wedding blogs (semestinya). Suka juga info blogs, for the sake of tak mahu jadi katak bawah tempurung, and the most all time favourite ialah the chick, leisure blogs. Nothing special about the chick, leisure blogs. The bloggers are same like us, talking about their daily life, but maybe the way they went through the (boring, simple, routine) daily life somehow quite interesting. Well, at least for me lah. Or perhaps, they just know how to write to make it nice. But whatever it is I love their blogs.

Most of the good blogs are always introduced by Uda. She is like the blog's Guru. Haha. Tanya saja, she knows it. Memang tabik wa cakap lu. And then, I will sebar2kan kepada Pijoi. When he has the time, he will read it. And surprisingly, he loves it too. Dan kemudian, Pijoi will sebarkan to his colleagues, and his colleagues sebarkan to colleagues' friends and colleague's friends to another colleague's friends and so so so on. And that's how my favourite bloggers get their new silent readers (fans). Well, I am exaggerating like always but I guess sikit2 tu adalah kan? If only ini ialah business MLM, pasti saya sudah kaya macam keluarga HAIO. Ohh..Benci gile iklan Keluarga HAIO tu boleh? Tak boleh blah!!

Owh btw I'm going back to JB tonite and looking forward for a great weekend. Yeay! Wish you have a nice one too!;D

Proud to be a Malaysian

One fine day...

1. A Malaysian lady who was chatting and laughing with a friend at Starbuck, suddenly asked me and friends a question. "Girls, what is our PM name?" asking with sound of giggling. I answered seriously, "Abdullah Ahmad Badawi. Why?" "HAHAHA. Ya lor. I forgot. See I told you, I dont know the PM's name!" She went back to her seat and continued laughing with her friend. Note: The incident happenned in 2006.
2. A friend of mine, who was studying abroad less than 4 years, had forgotten how to sing Negaraku song. She can still feel proud of forgetting it and no sense of feeling guilty at all.
3. A Malaysian boss to a big, well known US company, doesnt even know until last June that Najib has taken over the PM position in April. She still can laugh and made fun of it. Also, claimed that she is innocent since she was in Japan in March.

Is it funny to not to know who is your PM or to forget your own country song? Saya sangat tak faham dengan mereka. They claimed they are Malaysian though. For me, it is not just the nationality does matter but be proud of your country is equally important. Or at least just give a lil respect to the land that grows you to be a good person. Does it make sense?

I dont know why I should raise this issue, but for me my country is really matter. I am Malaysian and I mean it!

Gentleman Strangers

Pagi tadi, ada kereta lagi sikit nak langgar sebuah motorsikal. Salah kereta tu yang pastinya. Dan sebagai pemandu motorsikal, semestinyalah dia berang. Siap angakt jari tengah ok. Tapi kalau saya yang kena, sure saya menyumpah that car for the whole day. Siapa tak cuakkan?

But I can still remember the day I was down the road somewhere near the Dunedin University. Saya dan family adalah di antara pejalan kaki di road yang agak busy itu. Dengan kereta, dengan basikal dan pejalan kaki. Semua orang sibuk nak ke university kecuali kami yang hanya mahu berjalan2 in the cold winter morning. Tiba-tiba, selepas saja kami melintas jalan, ada satu basikal yang agak laju melanggar sebuah MPV yang mahu menyeberang jalan. Tak ada siapa yang cedera I could see. Just rim basikal agak bengkok sebab laju jugalah that white guy bawak. But the scene wasn't over with the middle finger up or cacian yang sepatutnya di dengar. Tetapi, di akhiri dengan pelukan untuk menenangkan si pemandu van yang merupakan seorang black muslim lady. Of course that lady was shivering ketakutan. And the gentleman white guy, quickly asked her whether she is okay or not while giving her a comfort hug. I was really surprised. Yang salah is the van, tapi si mangsa yang bengkok rim basikalnya, masih lagi mampu memaafkan, malah mencomfortkan lagi. Baguskan kalau semua manusia berhati baik?

Oh how I missed (a bit) those gentleman strangers. Yang always will open the door for you jika kamu dan the gentleman strangers bump into the same door, or offer you a helping hand jika nampak kamu bawa barang yang berat (especially melalui auckland hilly road with your huge luggage), or maybe a gentleman bus driver yang akan help you to find the right bus in the middle of the road bila kamu tersalah ambil bus.

Oh how I wish (too), those gentleman strangers are from my origin or at least have the same skin colour with me whom I can be proud of. But, still god, I am grateful for having the 'gentleman' fiance. At least, he has tried to be the 'real' one once by opened the car's door for me during our 1 month anniversary. HAHA. Jadilahkan labu?!;p

Two Years!

Our relationship turns 2 today!;) And thinking that we have less than 5 months to tie the knot, it is even more wonderful. Tuhan, I am blessed. Thank you;)

Mentioned about wedding, never fail to make me bersemangat waja to talk about it. I guess everyone yang menjadi mangsa pendengar naik bosan dah. The only one yang tak akan pernah bosan is my mum. She always keeps inspiring me on this and that dan dia juga bersemangat waja seperti saya. I know it;D Tuhan, I am blessed sekali lagi.

Semalam, saya sudah menempah kad kahwin. Ya, sangat awal. Bulan 8 sudah siap. Tapi itu request from Mama. Dia sangat takut yang dia tertinggal nama2 tetamu yang sepatutnya dijemput. Nanti ada pula yang berkecil hati. Saya rasa, bab jemput menjemput ke majlis kahwin memang hal2 yang sensitif. Kalau boleh biarlah diberi kad, atau at least a personalised message. Bukan apa, mahu tetamu yang dijemput terasa keikhlasan si penjemput. Itu kata Mama. Hmm..saya setuju kot! Ngee.

Oh hari ini kerja (quarter close). Hmm bencinya!!!
